\n\"Trader<\/a>If you are planning to transit Portland Bill, the NCI Portland Bill station will be available on watch between 07:00 and 19:00 hrs BST, 7 days a week to help you, if you need assistance. Our highly trained watchkeepers monitor all vessels passing the lighthouse at Portland Bill and in addition vessel details, speed and course are recorded. These details are not available for public viewing.<\/p>\n

To help us to help you, we would ask you to have your AIS switched on, if available, and if you have a radar reflector that it is sited correctly. Our major problem is with correct vessel identification, reading the vessel name from a distance and contact by radio or AIS will be of great assistance to us.<\/p>\n

We are currently unable to display the weather conditions from our weather station due to technical problems however if you contact our lookout by telephone or radio our duty watchkeepers will be pleased to advise you of the current weather and tidal conditions.<\/em>
